
Raymond Bert Bowling, 76, of Mansfield, died Sunday morning, April 16, 2006, at Oak Grove Manor after an extended illness. Born August 13, 1929, in Toledo, he was the son of Raymond Howard and Lillian Huffman Bowling. Mr. Bowling retired from United Telephone where he was an engineer. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia H. Burt Bowling, whom he married October 31, 1952 in Plymouth, Massachusetts; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dennis Ray Bowling of Mansfield, John Howard and Sheri Bowling of Biloxi, Mississippi and Roger Allen and Laura Bowling of Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Marie Bowling and Jim Hagerman of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Michael Hagerman, Michelle Hagerman, Bryan Hagerman, Kelly Bowling and David Bowling; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Bidlack of Grover Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Helen Krotzer.
Memorial graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Windsor Park Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Faith Proietti and John Bowling. The Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Detail will conduct military services at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice.
