She was born on Christmas day, December 25, 1941, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Evelyn Mae (Miksel) and James William McKew. She graduated from Huron High School and graduated from The Ohio State School of Cosmetology. Becky worked in office administration with Sprint for 30 years. She married Jerry Hallabrin in May 1961.
Becky enjoyed golf and was a member of the Shelby Country Club and Galion Country Club. She enjoyed shopping, finding that perfect something she needed. Becky and Jerry enjoyed traveling and several destinations were all parts of Mexico, the Bahamas and Las Vegas. They also were seasoned cruise travelers visiting many places in the Caribbean Sea. Meeting her friends for coffee every day was a fun way to socialize. Becky adored her family and spent countless hours attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Becky leaves a legacy that will be treasured forever by family and friends.
Becky is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jerry Hallabrin; three children, Mike (Dagny) Hallabrin, Whitney (Mederick) Lee and Steve Hallabrin; eleven grandchildren, Tiffany Moore, Austin Hallabrin, Elizabeth (Matt) Alton, Emily Hallabrin, Michael I. (Jennalyn) Hallabrin, Allison (Kevin) Ebersole, Dinah (Jacob) Morris, Racine, James, Louisa and Margaret Hallabrin; six great-grandchildren; an uncle, Tom Miksel; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne Fowler; two brothers, William and Robert McKew; a sister, Bonnie Matthews; and her in-laws, Regina and Michael F. Hallabrin Jr.
A celebration of Becky’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. A private family graveside service will be observed at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
