

Richard Hamilton Jr., 76, of Mansfield went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 29, 2018 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Richard was born on December 15, 1941 in Mansfield, Ohio to Richard Sr. and Betty (Hamman) Hamilton.
Family was very important to Richard, and he strived to be a good provider to his family. Watching his children and grandchildren play sports was an enjoyment for him. He served his country as an Aviation Ordnanceman First Class in the United States Navy. Richard had a strong work ethic and retired from GI Plastek in Bellville where he was a foreman. He loved the sport of golf and was on leagues in Bellville and Ashland. He was a member of Sons of Herman in Mansfield. He enjoyed crocheting hats of which he gave to Catholic Charities for the homeless. His greatest achievement in his life was accepting Jesus Christ.
He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Joyce (Weiland) Hamilton; his children, Sheri (Ron Liston) Hamilton and Steve (Heather) Hamilton; a daughter-in-law, Julie Hamilton; grandchildren, Grant (Sara), Troy, Baleigh, Gabriel, Salem, Shaylan, Sean, Jessica and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Ava; and a brother, Rod (Steph) Hamilton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Richard "Richie" Hamilton III, daughter, Stephanie Hamilton; and sister, Sharon Brauchler.
Friends and family may visit from 4:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road. Rev. Harley Holden will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 am on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in Mansfield Cemetery.
