
Richard Carl Walters, 69, of 448 Ashland Rd., died early Monday, June 18, 2001 at Med Central Mansfield after a brief illness. He was born March 23, 1932 in Mansfield to Carl and Helen Swasick Walters. Mr. Walters was a truck driver for Swan Cleaners. He loved his wife dearly and was a very private person. He was a sports enthusiast, especially with football and baseball and enjoyed taking walks. He was a veteran of the Air National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Troupe Walters, whom he married May 1, 1966; three sisters, Dorothy Gaubatz, Freda Clark and Marty Bassin, all of Mansfield; five step-children, John Troupe, Bob Troupe and Carol Baughman, all of Mansfield, Don Troupe of California, and Betty of Florida; and several step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Helen Walters; four brothers, Jack, Eugene, Robert and Raymond Walters; and one stepson.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to funeral services to be held Monday, June 25, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Major Robert Baker will be conducting the services. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
