Rickie Thompson

Rickie A. Thompson, age 52 of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Saturday morning at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Thompson was born April 3, 1954 in Grayson, KY and has lived in Mansfield most of his life. Rick was a Harley Davidson enthusiast, a loving husband and father who was employed at AK Steel for 34 years.

Surviving are his wife, Donna Owens Thompson; four daughters and one son; Tonia & Jerry Riley Jr. of Perrysville, Wade Thompson of Mansfield, Vanessa & Darby Mitchell of Coshocton, Melissa Thompson of Mansfield, and Rikki Thompson at home; seven grandchildren, Coty & Brandy Riley, Alexis & Wade Thompson, Alan & Samuel Mitchell, and Nathan Medic; two brothers, Victor Thompson, and Gary & Sue Thompson; two sisters, Kimberly & Joe Sawdey, and April Wright; mother & father-in-law, Donald & Theresa Owens; two sisters-in-law, Belinda & Kevin Williams, and Annette & Rick Ward. Special nieces & nephews include Chris & Dusty Ramirez, Brooke Vanderpool, Donna Linn Ward, and Harry Rush. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edsle & Janet Tussey Thompson.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Wednesday from 6-8 p.m., and also one hour prior to the service. Memorial services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
