Robert Fry

Robert D. Fry, 89, of Mansfield, died Monday, January 2, 2006, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a brief illness. He was born May 26, 1916, in Mansfield, the son of John W. and Alice M. Sayles Fry. A resident of Mansfield his entire life, he was a 1934 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. Bob retired from Tappan Company in 1978 after 37 years of service and was a member of the Tappan Quarter Century Club. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church where he enjoyed ushering for many years, and also a member of the Christian Homebuilders and the Autumn Club. Bob was a kind, loving person and will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, brother and friend.

Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Esther M. Falk Fry; one brother and sister-in-law, Jack L. and Marjorie Fry of Mansfield; sister-in-law, Lucille Falk of Coos Bay, Oregon; a niece, Nancy Glogowski and a nephew, Richard A. Fry; and a very close friend, Mary E. Delp of Mansfield. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Fern Falk.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2006 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2006, at Main Street United Methodist Church with Revs. Doug Lewis and Allen E. Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church.
