

Robert L. Garver, 81 of 263 W. Main St. Lexington, Ohio died May 25, 2000 at MedCentral Mansfield following a sudden illness. Mr. Garver was born June 3, 1918 in Lexington, Ohio being a life long resident. He retired from Mansfield Police Department and Mansfield Municipal Court as an Administrator. Mr. Garver was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Venus Lodge #152 F & AM, Baku Grotto, American Legion post #16, Amvets Post #26 and Fraternal Order of Police. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp as 1st Lieutenant serving in World War II as a B-24 pilot and was activated during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Jones Garver; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Diana Garver of Mansfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Skip Stehle of Port Clinton, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kristy Grassick; Marcy Roth; Julie Gerts; and Gary Stehle; one great-grandson, Colin Grassick; one sister, Odessa Sell of Lexington, Ohio; two brothers, Neil Garver of Mansfield and Harold Garver of Shenandoah, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Grace Garver; one sister, Arlene; one brother, Arlo and one half brother, Gail Kochheister.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors from 11:30 a.m. to the time of services which will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday May 30, 2000 conducted by Rev. David Reed and with Military Funeral Rites conducted during services.
