

Robert R. Lauer, 68, of Ontario, died Friday December 31, 2004 at his home following a brief illness. Robert was born October 13, 1936 in Mansfield to the late Fred W. and Daisy C. Fry Lauer. He was retired from The United States Air Force for which he served his country from 1954-1974, and also had previously worked for the State of Alaska, and worked eight years at Kroger. Robert enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren, camping with family, being a part of the Amvets Post #26, Old Duffers Golf Club at Forest Hills, and bowling for the Renaissance League. He was also a member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Surviving is his wife, Betty Porter Lauer at home; four daughters, Kathy Perkins, Judy Smith, Mary 'Beth' James, and Bobbi Boggs, all of Mansfield; twelve grandchildren, Christy Aggof, Keith Williams, Christopher Perkins, Tiffany Mattox, Britnee Lambert, Robert Lauer II, Daniel Murray, Sara Sexton, Cody Moistner, and Bryce and Brett Boggs; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Hart of Mansfield, and Helen Sams of Denver, Colorado; and a brother, William Bonecutter of Mansfield. Robert's parents; two brothers, Fred W. and Charles Lauer; a sister Evelyn Lauer; and a granddaughter Stacie Boggs all preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Tuesday January 4, 2005 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, with an evening vigil service. A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Monsignor Edward Dunn will take place Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the St. Peter's Catholic Church. A memorial graveside service with Military Honors will occur at a later date in the Mansfield Cemetery. Contributions may be made in care of Med Central Hospice, or the Monsignor Dunn Scholarship Fund.
