

Born March 12, 1927 in Marshallville, OH he was the son of Isaac and Della (Merreot) Riggenbach. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1945-1946. An area resident for most of his life, he retired from Empire Detroit (AK) Steel after 41 years of service. Prior to that he had started working for Jones Potato Chips at the age of 17, and then went on to work for the State of Ohio Road Department. He was a member of the Ridgeway First Church of God, Venus Lodge #152, Baku Grotto, Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus and USWA #169. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and gardening but his greatest enjoyment was when he was spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Josephine (Estep) Riggenbach; three daughters, Debi (Frank) Damude of Mansfield, Sandy (Ron) Williamson of Ashland and Cyndi (Gary) Grace of Lucas; grandchildren, Stacey and Ashley Damude, Miranda and Sierra Williamson, Devin Arnett and Autumn Wheaton; and one great granddaughter, Khloe Adamson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Brown.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield where Masonic services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Ridgeway First Church of God, 1380 Park Ave E., Mansfield, conducted by Pastor John Dodds. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Friends may also call one hour prior to the services, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., at the church on Monday.
