Robert Arthur Schiffer, 93, of Mansfield, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born May 4, 1912, in Shelby, he was the son of Frank C. and Alice Byers Schiffer. Mr. Schiffer retired from Goebel Brewing of Detroit. He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the U.S. Army Air Corps in Okinawa.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Ruth E. Schiffer; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Judith L. Schiffer of Connecticut; three grandchildren, Deborah Lee, William Robert, and Eric Franklin; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas Schiffer in 2005.
There will be no calling hours or services observed at this time. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
