Bob was born December 28, 1932 in Newark, Ohio. He was the son of Frank and Beatrice (Amore) Shambre. Bob was a 1950 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, and served in the United States Army. He married his loving companion, Dolores on August 3, 1952 and were just one month shy of 71 years of blessed marriage. Throughout his career he worked at Dominion Electric for 22 years, Westinghouse for 16 years and Hawkins for 22 years. He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, and a member of the Sons of Herman. He was a member of the Madison Lions Club for 40 plus years where he received the Melvin Jones Lions Award for service. He was a faithful and dedicated fan to the Madison Rams, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and Cleveland Browns. In his spare time, he enjoyed building model planes, doing puzzles and playing golf.
Bob is survived by his wife, Dolores (Hurley) Shambre; his children, Mike (Margie) Shambre of Ashland, Sherri (Tim) Middleton of Lilburn, GA, and Kim Bursley of Fredericktown; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Frank H. Shambre of Lexington; and a nephew, Eric (Judy) Snyder of Bellville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Annabelle (Glen) Snyder; his brother-in-law, Melvin Hurley; his son-in-law, Leonard Bursley; and his niece, Lisa King.
The family will observe a private family burial in Oak Grove Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Madison Lions Club, 2148 Bowen Rd. Mansfield, Ohio 44903.
