

He graduated from Madison High School in 1954. Ron was a great dad and grandfather. He worked 37 years at Hostess Cake. After his retirement he worked nine years at Sandy Hill Fruit Farm. Ron was a big sports fan and loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was a handiman and loved working around his home.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara (Wald) Barr; two sons, Ronald (Sue) Barr and Jay Barr (Sue Casad); grandchildren, Rod Rickert, Amanda Rickert, Angie (Mike) Ray, Megan (Eli) Mitchell, Ben (Libby) Barr, Kate Barr, Chris (Jon) Elder, Matt Barr, Mike Barr and Nick Barr; great grandchildren, Alexis King, Tori Ray, Emily Ray, Kennedy Rickert, Kasadee Rickert, Courtney Crawford, David Ray, Jason Barr, Adam Mitchell, Lucas Barr, Andrew Mitchell, Derek Barr, Zack Barr, Liam Barr, Aiden Mitchell, Ella Barr, Abby Mitchell, Kayleigh Rickert, Jaxon Elder and Alex Elder. Also surviving are a brother, Gene (Dorothy) Barr of California; four sisters, Loretta Carbetta of Columbus, Pat (Merle) Secrist of Mansfield, Mary (Bob) Kuelling of Bellville and Linda Minhinnet of Indiana; many nieces and nephews; a son-in-law, Kenneth Webb; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bob and Nancy Riggle and their family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Eunice Barr; his first daughter, Vicki Lynn Webb; and a brother, Donald Barr.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 South Diamond Street, Mansfield. A Celebration of Ron's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
