

Rotten Ralph E. Meckling, 75, of Mansfield died Sunday afternoon January 12, 2003 at SCCI Mansfield. Mr. Meckling was born February 28, 1927 in Glassport, Pennsylvania residing in the Mansfield area since 1955. He graduated from Purdue University in Electrical Engineering and was President of Merrico Inc. Mr. Meckling was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Meckling of Albany, New York; and Steven and Linda Meckling of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; three daughters, Sally, Peggy and Kelly Meckling all of Columbus; five grandchildren, Rachel and Bethany Meckling of Columbus; Taylor and Miles Meckling of Mt. Gilead; and Sydney Hooper of Columbus; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Kathryn E. Dickson of Detroit, Michigan; Marilynn E. and Leo Mac McNeil of Alexandria, Virginia; and Frances B. Rothschild of New York, New York; numerous nieces and nephews; good friend, Sandy Powers of Mansfield; and former spouse and long-time friend, Jean Asher Meckling of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Katherine E. Meckling; one brother, William H. Meckling and one sister, Janet E. Meckling.
Friends may call at The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to a 6:00 p.m. memorial service on Friday January 17, 2003. Per Ralph's wishes, family and friends will be hosting an additional celebration of his life at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kent Waldrep National Paralysis Foundation or to the Christopher Reeves Foundation.
