
Ruby L. Carroll, 86, of Mansfield, died Sunday afternoon, May 13, 2007 at Heartland of Centerburg. She was born September 8, 1920 in Carter City, Kentucky to James and Stella Rose Morris. Mrs. Carroll was formerly employed as a real estate agent with Athey Realty and had also worked for Shelby Spring Hinge, Taylor Metal, Dominion, Westinghouse, Park Lanes, Betty Luby Real Estate and Wolf Realty. She loved being with her family, playing Bingo and her trips to Las Vegas. Red was her favorite color and redbirds, her favorite birds. Her favorite music was gospel and country.
She is survived by five daughters, Betty J. Roy, Nellie Allen, Maggie Emery, Alfreda Sue Wallen Risner, Eunice L. Wilburn Donald D. Graber; son, James A. Carroll; previous husband, John Noble; twenty-seven grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; a number of great-great grandchildren; five sisters, Avenell Duncan, Clotine Morgan, Helen Fannin, Linda Herndon, Sandra Wharton; four brothers, Junior, Olen, Franklin and Shelton Morris; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Alfred A. Carroll and Flannery 'Tex' McMillan; three daughters, Stella Stimens, Rebecca K. Carroll, Patricia Kitts; one brother, Conroy Morris; and three sisters, Virgie Morris, Darlene Haggard and Mary Bond.
Friends may call Wednesday, May 16 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Dean Road Free Will Baptist Church.
