Ruby M. Shepherd, 78, of Mansfield, died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Center. Born Sept 23, 1931 in Wooster, she was the daughter of William and Lutie Walker Tanner. She retired as a custodian for the Madison Board of Education. Ruby loved her flowers.
She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Patty Shepherd of Mansfield, and Tina and Dennis McGlothlin of McCutchenville; grandchildren, Christopher and Julie Nikolaus of Virginia, Joy and Greg Darling of Mansfield, and Valerie and Jimmy Aguilar of Nebraska; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Shepherd; son, Billy Shepherd; and daughter, Betty Nikolaus.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Mansfield conducted by Pastor Robert Stull. Friends may call one hour prior to the service Tuesday, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or MedCentral Hospice.
