
Ruth Murphy, 76, of Mansfield died Sunday afternoon, June 29, 2003 at Mifflin Care Center. She was born in June 12, 1927 in Amherstdale, West Virginia to Dewey and Orpha Cline Stamper. She was the co-owner and operator of Ruth & Becky's Beauty Shoppe. Ruth was a member of First Church of the Open Bible, where she actively participated in church functions.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff Murphy; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Peg Murphy of Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Rodney Danals of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Ronda Faircloth of Georgia, Michael Hunger of Mansfield, and Carl Murphy, Jr. of Tennessee; four great-grandchildren, Heather and Josh Faircloth of Whigham, Georgia and Chastity and Blake Hunger of Crestline, and; one great-great-grandchild, Jenae Hayward of Cairo, Georgia; three step-grandchildren, Pam Pursley of Crestline, Helen Esbenshade and Judy Schilling, both of Mansfield; a brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Frances Stamper of Mansfield; and several nieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Stamper and Elmer Stamper.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Tuesday, July 1 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services conducted by Dr. John D. Freeman will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Following services a meal will be held at First Church of the Open Bible.
