

Samuel Robert Leapley, 77, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday morning, April 30, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Sam was born June 6, 1939, in Plymouth, Ohio, to the late Foster J. and Henrietta (Francen) Leapley.
Sam was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed buying and driving antique cars. He was an all-around good guy. On October 25, 1958, he married Betty Friend in Plymouth. Sam had worked at Ingersoll-Humphries and Rogate Industries before opening his own business, Sam's Auto Sales, which he operated for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Leapley; daughters, Sami Sabo and Dana Leapley (Steve Koehler); granddaughters, Destiny Sabo and Charity Koehler; son-in-law, Pat Sabo; sister, Frances Alridge of Portsmouth, OR; sisters-in-law, Carol (Cliff) Shindeldecker of Mansfield and Peggy (Woody) Chamberlain of Lorain, OH; numerous nieces and nephews; and many treasured friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Serena Marie Sabo; a brother, Foster Leapley, Jr.; and two sisters, Doris Rhodes and Mary Busic.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Private family burial will be held in Ontario Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
