Sandra Purdy

Sandi L. Purdy, 60, of Mansfield, died Sunday, December 27, 2009, at MedCentral Mansfield. Born July 29, 1949, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Gerald and Helen Pickens Lewis. A graduate of Malabar High School, Sandi had worked for Woodlawn Nursing Home and Twin Oaks Nursing Home as a nurse's aide. She enjoyed watching TV with her husband, Robert.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Purdy, whom she married in 1980; her children, Harold Allen Holly Purdy of Roanoke, VA, Otis Lewis of Mansfield, Bobby Purdy of San Diego, CA, Angel Richard Hamilton of Danville, KY, George Purdy of Danville, KY, Wayne Purdy of Virginia Beach, VA and Brian Mabel Purdy of Perrysville, OH; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Gary Lewis of Mansfield; a sister, Cheryl Foor of North Liberty, OH; a step brother-in-law, Carl Joan Wallace of Mansfield; a step-sister-in-law, Goldie Wallace of Millersburg, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a half brother-in-law, David Wallace; and her husband's parents, Charles Wallace, Mildred Wallace and Raymond Purdy.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, OH 44902. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at the funeral home.
