He was the son of Delbert and Velma Clutter. He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert. He is survived by his devoted mother, Velma Clutter; his brother, Keith Clutter; his sister, Cookie Hilliard (Steve); and his nieces, Brandy (Robert) Bellucci, Alicia Yates, and Rachel Workman. He also leaves behind his great-nieces, Ava and Kinley Yates, and great-nephews, Dominic and Gunnar Bellucci, who all adored their uncle. Terry also leaves behind his best friend, Larry Kirkpatrick.
For more than 30 years, Terry was a dedicated employee of Richland New Hope, where his kindness and hard work left a lasting impact on his colleagues and community.
Terry’s life was filled with many passions. He was a lifelong train enthusiast, a devoted animal lover—especially of dogs and cats—and he delighted in everything to do with Christmas. Born on Christmas Eve, he carried the joy and spirit of the season throughout his life. He was also an avid fan of NASCAR.
In Terry’s younger years, you have found him in the Madison bleachers cheering on the Rams or on his bike traveling across Stewart Road to Kroger’s.
He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures—KFC chicken, crispy bacon, and a perfectly cooked steak always brought him happiness.
If you knew Terry, you knew how deeply he cared about others. More than anything, Terry loved people. In his final days, he often reminisced about his family in West Virginia, holding those memories close to his heart.
Terry had a remarkable gift for sensing when someone was upset. With a well-timed joke or a heartfelt hug, he could brighten anyone’s day. Despite his mental disability, Terry never saw boundaries or limits. He worked tirelessly, with the energy of someone half his age. He couldn’t understand why people ever left—or why anyone would be unkind.
Terry also brought laughter through his innocent misunderstandings—like wondering why Reese’s Cups weren’t free at Walmart or why kitchen knives didn’t belong in pant pockets. Whether he was tearing something apart, spending time with family, or charming the ladies at the local burger joint, Terry was always ready for a good time.
He will be remembered for his joy, his kindness, and his boundless love for others.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to his caregiver Tammy Whitmore; The Friend Home Agency, in loving memory of Faith Potter; Nurse Cherry Leo & Central Star; Terry’s friends at New Hope; the staff of Hospice of Avita; and the wonderful caregivers at Arbor of Mifflin for their exceptional care, love, and compassion for Terry.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Wappner Funeral Directors – Mansfield located at 98 S. Diamond Street. A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at the same location on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Terry will be laid to rest at Mansfield Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor his memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Avita Hospice.
We’ll always think of Terry when we hear a train, see a fire truck, or listen to Fernando.
Terry, we love you “THIS MUCH”. We’ll never forget you.
