
Thomas E. Blizzard, 51, of Mansfield, died Thursday, April 26, 2007 at Ohio State University Medical Center of Methotrexate toxicity. Born March 12, 1956 in Mansfield, he was the son of Edward and Pauline Edwards Blizzard. He received his Associate's degree from NC State and was employed as a manager at Long John Silver's Restaurant. Mr. Blizzard attended North Woodbury Alliance Church. He was an assistant 4-H advisor, a member of 4-H Livestock committee and a member of the Sons of Herman. A history buff, he enjoyed reading and attending auctions.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Joan Columbus Blizzard; four children, Jim Ana Nunes McMullen, April Tony Blizzard-Nelson of Marion, Derek Blizzard and Brook Blizzard, both of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Devin McMullen, Lauren Nelson and Jacob Thomas Nelson; mother, Pauline Blizzard; two sisters, Karen Larry Morris of Mansfield and Linda Dyer of Canada; brother-in-law, Dale Dana Columbus; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and close family friends, Matt & Bonnie Pound. Preceding him in death were his father, Edward Blizzard and sister, Paulette.
Friends may call Monday, April 30 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Brian Mackey. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
