
Veda Plummer Southworth, 79, of Mansfield died Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield after a brief illness. Mrs. Southworth was born September 22, 1922 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania living in the Mansfield area since 1967. She retired from Sprint in 1988. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Monongahela, Pennsylvania. She was a MedCentral volunteer for over ten years donating 2000 hours. She also volunteered as a teacher's aide at Stadium Elementary for over 10 years.
She is survived by her husband, Howard G. Southworth of Mansfield; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Howard W. Southworth of Tacoma, Washington and Clair & Debra Southworth of Florence, Kentucky; three daughters and a son-in-law, Lynne & Glenn Pore of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, Diane Bell of Everett, Washington and Mary Southworth of Columbus, Ohio; 6 grandsons, Jason, Stephen and Brent Southworth, all of Tacoma, Washington, Cory and Christopher Southworth, of Florence, Kentucky and David Chevine of New Eagle, Pennsylvania; 3 granddaughters, Leslie Chevine of Hunker, Pennsylvania, Wendy Goodman of Mount Vernon, Washington and Megan Southworth of Tacoma, Washington; one great-grandson, Carson Goodman of Mt. Vernon, Washington; a special cousin, Delores Stoner of Monongahela, Pennsylvania; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Sichel of Charlotte, North Carolina and Ruth Gillingham of Monongahela, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. & Clara Roush Plummer.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Timothy Storms. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association.
