Walter Hines Schmidt, 57, of Mansfield, died February 22, 2015. Born March 24, 1957 in Mansfield, he was the son of George and Katherina (Saalman) Schmidt. A loving son, father, brother, and grandfather, Walter enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Surviving are his mother, Katherina Schmidt of Mansfield; daughter, Jacquline (Dan) Kisling of Mansfield; grandchildren, Kaitlin, Daniel, Austin, Ava, and Ella; and brothers, Eric Schmidt and Richard (Kathy Zeigler) Schmidt, both of Mansfield. Walter was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield, conducted by Pastor Renato Siewert. Family and friends are invited to visit for two hours prior to the service, from 12-2 p.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
