

Wayne V. Henderson, 82, of Mansfield died Saturday evening, October 19, 2002 in Grant Hospital in Columbus after a short illness. He was born February 12, 1920 in Carter County, Kentucky to Rev. Jerry and Mamie Henderson. Wayne retired from Mansfield Tire after 30 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a great gardener. Wayne attended Four Corners Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Isabel Henderson and daughter, Janet Coffey of New Boston, Texas; special friend, Ella Hoover of Mansfield. Nellie, mother of two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Dianna Henderson of Mansfield and Carroll and Yoshiko Henderson of LaMarque, Texas; and two daughters, Linda Hoffman and Mary Cantleberry, both of Mansfield; a sister, Leota Montgomery of Florida; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Jerry and Mamie Henderson; and three brothers, Haskel Henderson, Tracy Henderson and Clifford Henderson.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Wednesday, October 23 from 5-8 p.m. and also one hour prior to funeral services that will be held at the funeral home, Thursday at 1:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Fred Crank. Military graveside services will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
