Bill went to work for Ideal Electric at the age of 18 and retired after 37 years of service. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and most of all, being with his family. His dedication to his family was unmatched and he had a way of making everyone around him feel loved. He had a great sense of humor and was a bit stubborn also. He had a way of convincing you he was always right. Bill enjoyed his vacations, but looked forward to coming back home. He had a strong faith and relationship with God and shared that joy with family and friends.
He was meticulous in caring for his lawn and kept busy tinkering with various projects over the years. Bill always had old cars and was great at fixing them. His 1950 Studebaker was a favorite. He also enjoyed playing guitar and singing every chance he could find.
Bill is survived by his wife of 23 years, Terry McGatha Adams; four children, Pamela Jean Adams Smith, William Joseph Adams Jr., Tim (Reshana) McGatha and Amy (Brian) Huff; four grandchildren, Joseph and Amber Isaac, and Dalton and Dylan McGatha; three great-grandchildren; five siblings, Henry Adams, Wanda (Dave) Pinkerton, Betty (Ron) Davis, Robert (Nellie) Adams and Becky (Harvey) Kahl; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Cocoa.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service conducted by Pastor Fred Rowe Jr. will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. with additional visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Bunker Hill Cemetery.
