William Kunkel

William R. Kunkel, 83, of Mansfield died Wednesday morning, January 23, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield after a brief illness. Mr. Kunkel was born June 22, 1918 in Richland County, Ohio living in the area all of his life. He was retired from the Tappan Company after 42 years and was a member of the Tappan ¼ Century Club. Mr. Kunkel was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry Kunkel of Boulder, Colorado and David & Melinda Kunkel of Hendersonville, Tennessee; four grandchildren and their spouses, Adrianne & Mike Dennis of Lawrence, Kansas, Benjamin & Renee Kunkel of Savannah, Ohio, Mark Beal & Andrea Baldridge of Mansfield, and Michael & Kris Beal of Big Pine Key, Florida; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Boyd & Cleone Kerr Kunkel; his wife, Leva Kunkel; and two brothers, Gerald and Robert Kunkel.

Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to funeral services to be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Dr. Wray C. Smith. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
