William U. Welsch, 73, of 1102 Dresden Drive died Tuesday afternoon September 21, 1999 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio after an extended illness. Mr. Welsch was born February 18, 1926 in Mansfield, Ohio living in the area most of his life. He had been employed for 33 years at Mansfield Tire Company and had also worked at Powell Supply. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and Mansfield Tire's 25 Year Club. Mr. Welsch served in the United States Navy. He is survived by his loving wife, Caroline A. Booker Welsch; a daughter, Linda M. Welsch of Mansfield; a sister, Patricia Nichols of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Urban W. & Katherine L. Murphy Welsch; and a sister, Mary Katherine Warden. Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of William's life during graveside services to be held Friday September 24, 1999 at 12:00 p.m. at Windsor Park Cemetery conducted by Pastor Michael D. Weaver. Military services will be held at the cemetery conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
