
William J. Wheatcraft, age 58, of Mansfield, died Wednesday morning at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Wheatcraft was born March 23, 1941 in Mansfield living here all of his life. He was employed at Tappan's for 26 years, currently at Mansfield Warehouse & Distributing and had also worked at Porky's Drive In. Mr. Wheatcraft was an avid Cleveland Browns/Cleveland Indians Fan and loved antique cars. He had been in Air Guard at Mansfield Lahm. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Lowery Wheatcraft; a daughter and son-in-law, Victoria & John Henderson of Mansfield; a grandson, Jonathon; a granddaughter, Alyssa; two sisters, Velma Whatman of Bellville and Thelma Allen of Mansfield; a brother, Rex Scott of Mansfield; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Fast of Michigan and Sandra Reynolds of Mansfield; his biological mother, Mildred Harding of Tampa, Florida; and special friends, Kay Orsborn of Mansfield, Agnes Schiffel of Mansfield, Dan, Alice and the gang at Porky's and Killer and Pepper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milo & Mary Brokaw Wheatcraft; and a sister, Mart Nixon. Private funeral services will be held Friday at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, conducted by Rev. Faith Proietti. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Richland County Humane Society.
