

God has called him home and he has finally been reunited with his wife, of 57 years. He was an Army Combat Vietnam Veteran, who served in the 25th Infantry Division. A “Tunnel Rat.” He was drafted and sent to Vietnam in December 1966.
He was born on May 19, 1943, in Chandler, Arizona to Miguel Leyvas and Ruth “Cuca” Montano. His father worked in the cotton fields of Ocotillo (Chandler) and his mother took care of home and their eight children.
He married Guadalupe Medina on November 8, 1969, in Mammoth, Arizona. Both from small mining towns and big loving families. They have three children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and Rosie "Girl" his loyal German Shepherd.
He was a pipefitter welder in Hayden, Arizona for Kennecott, also known as Asarco. In 1999, after 30 years of working in the mine, he retired and lived the rest of his life traveling with his wife, enjoying TV shows and movies. Spending time in the yard and listening to nature. He brought bravery, strength and will to his family. He will always be remembered and never forgotten.
