Ronald Raymond Davis, age, 77, passed away in Tucson, Arizona on November 11, 2020. He was born May 27, 1943 in Los Angeles, California to John Raymond Davis and Francis Fox Davis. He spent most of his childhood in Oregon and graduated from Parkrose Highschool in Portland, Oregon.
He learned his trade as a Carpenter early on from his father, and much of his childhood was spent at his father’s side learning and building. At the age of 14, Ron built his first house on his own. While moving around some, he landed in Casper, Wyoming working on a job site in the dead of winter. He and his crew decided it would be a good idea to take a Fire Engine for a ride. You can draw your own conclusions as to how that ended up. He became a Journeyman Carpenter early on and eventually moved to Seattle, Washington where he became a Commercial Construction Superintendent. He was responsible for leading the team who built St Clair Hospital in Tacoma and the YMCA in Lakewood to name a few.
Once Ron retired, he continued his love of carpentry and was always working on one project or another. Whether it be in his home or the homes of his friends and family, he loved this work. This passion of his brought him tremendous pride because he could see the work he left behind. Many of you will forever have a piece of him in your hearts and homes. Ron also took great pride in the fact that his two sons, Shelton and Ted followed in his footsteps and continue in his trade.
Ron loved to travel with his wife Jill, and they were fortunate enough to travel to 43 states in the US, and many countries in Europe and Great Britain. They traveled by car, motorhome, and cruise ship; they have been on 16 cruises together. He was also a huge fan of NASCAR and Major League Baseball. Most of all, Ron loved his kids and took pride in their successes. It was most important to him that they were happy.
Ron is survived by his wife Jill Davis, his daughter Michelle Morell (Rudy), his son Shelton Davis (David), his daughter Susan Davis, his son Ted Davis, his step daughter Shannon Wolsky (Mike), his grandkids Morgan Tidwell, Derek Davis, Kaetlen Davis, Shilene Davis, his brothers Ritch Davis (Pat), Randy Davis, and his sister Raeleen Butcher (Rich).
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
