

Bonnie Roberts, 95, of Granite Shoals died January 29, 2013. Born July 9, 1917 in Vashti, Texas, she was the daughter of Glen & Leota (Baker) Faulkner. She and her family moved to Floyd, New Mexico in 1928 but moved back to Clay County (in 2 covered wagons) the next year when the drought came. They moved to Lubbock in 1936.
Bonnie married Coy Roberts in 1938. They moved to Denison in 1947 where they raised their two children. Coy died in 1965 and Bonnie retired from Pillsbury Company and started her own seamstress business. Her specialty was wedding gowns and formals. She once made a complete trousseau for a client to wear at the White House for a party given by President Nixon and his wife. Bonnie also made several formals for ladies in the Miss America Pageant. She retired from sewing when she was 80 years old.
She was very active in VFW, American Legion, and Eastern Star in Denison. Bonnie moved to Granite Shoals in 1991 and became a member of First Baptist Church of Marble Falls and became active in the Marble Falls Senior Activity Center.
Survivors include her son, Roy Roberts of Granite Shoals, granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Bonnie & Stephen Gallant of Brooks, Maine, great granddaughter and great grandson-in-law Vanessa & Jesse Rodriguez of Corpus Christi and great granddaughter Krista Jordan of Brooks, Maine and great great grandchildren Gavin Layne Jordan of Brooks, Maine and Alejandra Marie Rodriguez of Corpus Christi.
Memorial service will be held at Clements-Wilcox Chapel on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 10:00 Am with Bro. Max Copeland officiating.
