Dora Mae (Steinman) Lippe was born on December 1, 1920, one of thirteen children born to Willie Louis and Wilhelmine Becker Steinman. She lived a life full of love, faith, and dedication to her family and community.
She is survived by her three sons: Johnny Lippe (Sherry Lippe), Larry Lippe (the late Sharon Lippe), and Kenneth Lippe (Michelle Lippe), as well as seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love.
On June 15, 1943, Dora Mae married the love of her life, John Lippe, in Marysville, California. Together, they built a life centered on faith and service. During John’s career, they made their home in Odessa, Texas, where Dora Mae was an active member of the Lutheran church. Upon his retirement, they moved to Marble Falls in the early 1980s, becoming devoted members of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Dora Mae was deeply involved in the congregation, serving in the WELCA women’s group and quilting ministry. She played an integral role in planning and fundraising for the church’s current sanctuary and was part of the prayerful inspiration behind St. Peter’s logo. She also dedicated many years to the Marble Falls Senior Center, serving as an officer on its board.
Dora Mae possessed many remarkable talents, gifts she lovingly shared with her family. An extraordinary cook, seamstress, quilter, and avid gardener, she carried on the incredible legacy of her parents and siblings. She also had a deep passion for genealogy, contributing many stories to a published history of her hometown in Mills County. Her wisdom and skills, passed down through generations, will continue to live on in the hearts and hands of those she nurtured.
Her loved ones rejoice in knowing she has been made whole in the presence of her Savior, even as they mourn the absence of her earthly presence. Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will remain a guiding light for her family.
