Duffy A Stelly, 89, passed away on October 11, 2021, in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. Duffy was born on March 4, 1932, to Octave and Susie Guillotte Stelly in Kaplan, Louisiana. He graduated from Kaplan High School. He married Nelda Sanders Kelley on May 19, 1973.
Duffy was called to active service on October 8, 1952, through August 19, 1954. Most of that time, he was stationed in Korea in combat on the front lines. After his service, Duffy lived in Lake Jackson, Texas, and worked for Dow Chemical from 1956 until he retired in 1996.
In his younger days, Duffy enjoyed hunting and fishing. Later in life, he loved spending time at his cabin in the Colorado mountains.
Duffy is survived by his wife, Nelda, his son Gregory, his daughter Lori Holcomb and her husband Tom, his daughter Janice Champagne, his stepson Dr. William R Kelley, his stepdaughter Karen Du Val and her husband Gary, his stepdaughter Sharon Kelley, his sister Revella Norman Poff, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.
Duffy is proceeded in death by his parents and his brother, Bennet Stelly.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hill Country Memorial Hospice for their loving care and assistance. The family also wishes to thank their Church of Christ family for their prayers, love, support, and assistance.
A visitation will be held at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home at 1805 Hwy 281 N, Marble Falls, Texas, on October 15 at 12:30 with the burial at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park at 4219 Park Road 4 at 2:00.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Duffy’s name to Cherokee Home for Children (chc4kids.org), Hill Country Memorial Hospice (hillcountrymemorial.org), or Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (cmtausa.org).
