Harry Leon Cooksey III (“Leon”) was born on December 6, 1964, in Houston, Texas. Leon was raised Houston in a large family and moved to the Highland Lakes area over 25 years ago. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertie Simmons Rollins. He is survived by three sisters and three brothers, his wife Cynthia LeeAnn Cooksey, his four daughters Kirstie Cooksey, Shakira Cooksey, Tala Ramos and Dyani Cooksey, several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Leon worked in the construction trades and was skilled in many facets of the building industry. He was a true handyman. He enjoyed fishing on Lake LBJ and was known to pull out his rod and reel while he was on a break from work on jobs on the lake. Leon enjoyed building things out of wood, playing board games and hanging out in game rooms. Leon also enjoyed coloring, especially with his map colors. Leon loved to spoil Tala’s dog, Boss. His greatest joy came come from spending time with his daughters and his grandchildren.
Leon was outgoing and never met a stranger. He was generous to a fault and loved being active, especially working with his hands.
A memorial service for Leon is scheduled for 2:00 PM, April 14, 2024 at the Marble Falls Church of Christ.
