Howard Wayne Putman, 90, of Marble Falls, passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on May 13, 2023. Wayne was born on April 15, 1933, in Afton (Dickens County), Texas to Simuel Howard and Martha Faye Putman. He grew up in Lubbock, Texas and graduated from Lubbock High School in 1952. He joined the Army the following year and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. In 1954, he married Gene Ann Galloway. They were married for 68 years. Wayne and Gene Ann had three sons.
Wayne had a lifelong love of studying scriptures. His deepest desire was to meet the Lord, and always eagerly waited for His return. Wayne loved his family greatly: his wife, parents, sisters, sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He loved hunting and fishing and was an expert woodworker. He leaves behind many pieces he thoughtfully made for his loved ones. He loved the beauty of the world around him, especially birds, deer, wildflowers, and mountains. He loved his dogs, and all dogs loved him.
Wayne was a kind, gentle, patient man. His family described him as wise, peaceful, steady, loving, and witty. Many mentioned his great laugh and sense of humor. He always had a joke and couldn’t wait to share it with you. He was loved by all and was an anchor to his family.
