Bo was preceded in death by both parents, brother, Larry Jecker, and daughter Laura McCarty. He is survived by his wife, Marbeth “Marty” Casimir of Meadowlakes; daughter Denise (Jeff) of Burnet; grandchildren Jordan Minton of Austin, Lindsay Minton of Austin, Dustin Hulling of Wilmington, DE, and Hailey McCarty of Granite Shoals; and brother Bill Casimir of Houston, TX.
Bo and Marty married in 1959 at the ages of 18 and 16. By the time they were 22 and 20, they had 2 children. Everyone said they were kids and would never make it. They proved the naysayers wrong by celebrating their 62nd anniversary on May 21 this year.
Bo had charisma, charm, humor, drive, and high expectations that attracted people and made him the life of every party. He was voted Most Popular every year from 7th through 12th grades. He could also be pessimistic, perfectionistic and a bit superstitious.
Bo, being an overachiever by nature, worked extremely hard to provide a good life for Marty and his girls, all the things he didn’t know as a child. The family enjoyed summer vacations at Six Flags and Chalk Bluff. The early years consisted of neighborhood gatherings with BBQs, homemade ice cream, ping pong, and board games, and lots of laughter.
Bo never met a stranger and remained close to childhood friends until the day he passed. He made many lifelong friends through his work at GCR and Firestone and with neighbors in Meadowlakes and kept up with them all over the years.
He was blessed to be able to retire at 50. He and Marty traveled, played golf, and enjoyed their grandchildren. He was adored as Paupau by all of his grandchildren and actively participated in their upbringing.
Bo was the rock of his family. We will miss you, Bo, Daddy, Paupau, and will keep your memory alive with countless stories!
The family suggests contributions to The American Heart Association or The American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
