While not being born in Texas, it didn’t take him long to get here. His family moved back to the family ranch in Briggs Texas in 1964, and he went on to attend school in Florence Texas, elementary, through high school.
He spent a few years working in the oil fields in Giddings Texas. Then came home and worked for several construction companies as a heavy equipment operator before going to work at Continental Cut Stone as mill foreman for 12 years and then transferring to Lueders Texas as the manager of Continental Quarries for 6 years. His last years were spent managing his central Texas ranch.
He is survived by his wife Linda Gillentine Estes of Horseshoe Bay. Texas. His children Samantha Brooke Haun of Briggs Texas and Anthony Chad Estes of Lampasas Texas. Two grandchildren, Rylee Estes of Briggs and Madliynne Estes of Abilene. His Sister Patti (Estes) Hefern of Briggs Texas and his brother Tom Estes of Florence Texas plus many nieces and nephews He was proceeded in death by his mother Melba Nadine Estes and his Father Thomas Jack Estes.
His best times were spent, Hunting and Fishing on his ranch in Briggs and spending time around the camp fire with his friends and family and also enjoyed spending time with his wife and friends, at their home in Horseshoe Bay Texas.
His family would like to thank all the friends that assisted during his long illness.
Graveside services will be held at Gillum Cemetery on Monday October 29th at 11:00 AM. Pallbearers include, Keenan Hughes, Joseph Atkinson, Ryan Applequist, David Scott Sutton, Jerrad Sutton and Paul Williams. Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny Dale Shannon, James Cannon, and Skip Williams.
The family would like to invite his friends and family to attend a celebration of his life, at the family ranch, following the services.
