He was born on September 7, 1956 in Denver City, Texas to Jan Thomas and Virginia Rowan Brooks.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Barbara of Granite Shoals, daughter Jennie Hamilton of Granite Shoals, and son Jonathan Brooks of Burnet; granddaughters Brianna and Bailey Hamilton of Granite Shoals, grandson Zachary Hamilton of Granite Shoals, sisters Deborah Brooks of Granite Shoals and Sherry Kleinhans of Lewisville and brother Brent Brooks of Granite Shoals. He is also survived by many other relatives and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Wayne Brooks.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Marble Falls City Cemetery.
