Josephine, met and fell completely in love with a soldier that she met in Colorado Springs at a dance. Without a doubt in her mind, she married Joe Allen Roberts, July 29,1972. Joe and her enjoyed riding motorcycles and hanging out with family. Soon after marrying Joe, they welcomed their first child Matthew Allen Roberts. Living in Colorado Springs briefly before moving to Texas to take care of Joe's mother after his father's death. Josephine left all she knew for the love of her life. While adapting to Texas, just five years after having their first child, Josephine gave birth to their daughter Misty Marie Roberts. Josephine was a very talented musician playing several instruments, including the accordion, keyboard and guitar. She shared her love of music with her family and anyone who would listen. She had a band at a very young age with her brothers, they would play in local bars, with their dad attending to watch over his children.
Josephine was a loving and fierce mother. Who always put her family first, and taught them to be good human beings. She passed her faith on to her children and grandchildren, who she adored beyond measure. Her grandchildren held her whole heart, and she enjoyed their time together. Playing music for them was one of her favorite memories. She was a very hardworking woman, and helped Joe provide a home for their children. Josephine and Joe always tried to help their family, in any way they could. They provided advice on how to live within your means, make good choices, and always know that they had your back. Josephine loved to dance, and passed that onto her children. She was full of life, and enjoyed the outdoors with her family. She took us fishing along the Colorado River. Although she wasn't a fan of flying she'd make the exception to go gambling. She loved Elvis Presley, jewelry, sweets and sleeping late. She sung several songs to us growing up, one of our favorite is Lonely Letters and When the Next Tear Drop falls. Both, Matthew and Misty remember her always putting us on the bathroom counter to comb our hair, making dad's lunch and dinner. She always wanted us to dress nice wash up and look presentable whenever we left the house no matter where we we're going.
Even though our hearts are breaking, we are smiling knowing she is in heaven with our loved ones. Just knowing we will be together again brings peace to our hearts. We will miss you mom, every day, but know Matt and I will take care of each other the way you taught us to do. With all of our love, until we meet again. Love you.r
