Judith Gorsie DeSalme, beloved mother and wife, entered into eternal rest on January 8, 2021. Born on July 18, 1938, she was the daughter of the late George and Mildred Gorsie. Judith was born in San Antonio, Texas and attended Incarnate Word High School. She married Adolph J. DeSalme Jr. after graduating from high school and began her career with General Motors. Together they raised six children and were very active in each of their lives and education. Later in life, Judith began a new career with the Bexar County Election Administration Department from which she retired after 18 years. Mom was very active in all the school’s P.T.A.s, planning carnivals, fundraisers and sewing costumes. She loved to travel with her children and actively sought out new adventures with them. She loved hiking in the mountains, hot air ballooning, swimming, relaxing at the beach, traveling to Hawaii, Europe, Alaska, the Caribbean Islands and the Arctic Circle. Judith learned to cross country ski, ride A.T.V.s, white water raft, became a certified scuba diver and even learned to “mush” a team of dogs in Montana. She was a very devoted and loving mother that will greatly be missed by all of her children.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents George and Mildred Gorsie, her loving husband, Adolph DeSalme Jr., of 51 years and her brother George Gorsie Jr. She is survived by her six children: Jerome DeSalme (Syndie), Denise Perry (Allen), Diane Leatherwood (Charles), Debora Moore (Brad), Darlene Narvaez (Cruz), and Joseph DeSalme (Sara), eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews and brother Phillip Gorsie.
