Born in Beaumont, Texas, on May 23, 1944, Judy grew up with an appreciation for family and education. She attended North Texas State University, where she earned her degree in education, later completing her master’s degree to further her passion for teaching and leadership.
She began her career in the classroom and soon found her calling in school administration, ultimately serving as principal at Beneke Elementary in the Spring Independent School District. Judy’s dedication left a lasting mark on generations of children, educators, and families.
After retiring from public education, she embraced a second chapter working alongside her sister at her clothing boutique in Fredericksburg, Texas. She later settled in Horseshoe Bay, where she found peace among friends, nature, and a quiet, joyful life.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Jill Siegel; son-in-law, Daniel; and her grandsons, Noah and Zander, all of Austin, Texas. She was a loving, spirited, and devoted grandmother. She is also survived by her sister, Marjorie Grier, and brother-in-law, Charlie Grier, of Horseshoe Bay.
A lifelong animal lover, Judy especially adored her little rescue Yorkie, Gracie, who brought her endless comfort and companionship. Her tenderness for animals reflected the warmth and compassion she shared with everyone around her.
Judy will be remembered always for her intelligence, kindness, and sense of humor.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in Judy’s memory to Highland Lakes Canine Rescue, a no-kill rescue in Marble Falls, Texas, dedicated to giving dogs with medical and behavioral needs a second chance at life.
