Weldon "Bart" Dewain Bartlett

Weldon Dewain Bartlett, age 90, of Kingsland, TX, passed on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Scott & White hospital in Marble Falls. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., April 25 at Kingsland Community Church 1136 RM 1431, Kingsland, Tx.

Bart was born in Sanderson, Tx, to Hobart Bartlett and Ruth Woods Bartlett, December 11, 1935. His siblings were Nelda (Don) Gage, Royce (Naomi) Necaise, Judy (Mike) Garner, and Gene (Jan) Bartlett.

He served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 3 years, from Oct. 15, 1953 to Oct. 14, 1956 in San Diego, CA. He left with an Honorary Discharge as an E4 Sergeant.

He was employed by GTE in Outside Plant Construction and as the Construction Manager for a total of 33 years, from March 1957 to retiring March 29, 1990.

His hobbies were golfing, fishing, deer hunting, bowling, dancing (he and his wife Sarah won a few dance contests). Bart continued golfing until last year. He enjoyed time with his Boston Terrier “Lil’ Girl.”

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Bartlett, and one daughter, Sandra Lynn McMullen. Bart, the acting father of 9 children, was affectionately known as “Paw Paw” / “Grandpa Bart”. He and his wife Sarah had both been married before. They each had 4 children. They had one child, David Bartlett, together.

“Paw Paw” / “Grandpa Bart” is survived by his children and grandchildren; David (Cathi) Bartlett has 5 children and 5 grandchildren. Kathy (Buz) Taylor has 8 children, 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Barbara Bartlett has 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Paula Bartlett has 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Sandra Lynn McMullen, deceased, has 3 children and 7 grandchildren. Cyndra Rogotzke, has 2 children. Darrell (Susan) Willingham has 2 children and 3 grandchildren. Frank Willingham has 2 children and 4 grandchildren. Charlie Willingham, has 2 children and 4 grandchildren.

“Paw Paw” / “Grandpa Bart” has been a father and grandfather to 9 children, 28 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
