William P. “Bill” Hickman, 87, of Meadowlakes, TX passed away October 26, 2011. Born September 12, 1924 in Texarkana, Arkansas, Bill was the son of Thomas & Margaret (James) Hickman. He grew up in Louisiana and lived in several places during his career with Cities Service Oil Company. He retired after 33 years and moved to Mississippi. After Hurricane Katrina he moved to Marble Falls, TX.
Bill served in the Navy and Marines and graduated from Louisiana State University. He was an avid sports fan and golfer.
He is survived by his wife Helen of 63 years, son Preston of Marble Falls, TX, daughter Mary Starrak & husband Jim of Pleasanton, TX, 2 granddaughters Bonnie Starrak of Austin, TX and Jayme Starrak of San Marcos, TX and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Tom.
Memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Marble Falls on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 11:00 AM.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association.
