Doris S. Mashey (Doe) died in Naples, Florida on April 28, 2018. The daughter of Charles Storch and Hellen Lubon Storch was born in Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania on March 5, 1945. She attended high school in the Pittsburgh Area at North Allegheny and Peabody High Schools, where she received her diploma.
She married James H. Mashey Jr. on June 3, 1967 in Pittsburgh and they made their home there until they moved to their next home in Marrietta, Ohio the fall of 1993. In the early summer of 1997 they moved to their home on Marco Island, Florida where they enjoyed life together there for almost 21 years. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary June 3, 2017.
Doe and her husband deeply loved each other, and he greatly misses her and her considerable artistic talent, as will others. To him she seemed to be the second coming of possibly the greatest artist in history, Michelangelo (Her acrylic oil reproductions of historic paintings, his and others from 200 to 600 years ago were incredible). She was also known for her one-of-a-kind creations and sale of about 1,400 ladies' dress hats between 1994 and 2014.
The items below demonstrate the caliber of her art work and skills, which were all self-taught, and the considerable talent we will no longer experience.
