George Rotkvich

Rotkvich, George, Jr., (82), Devoted husband of Marilyn (nee Gizesky) for 62 years. Loving father of Brian (Sharon), Scott (Belinda). Cherished Papa to David, Kristin (Hayden), Gianna and Zack. Beloved son of Sophie and George Rotkvich, Sr. Loving son-in-law of Walter and Mary Gizesky. Beloved brother of Daniel (Patricia), Joseph (Rita), Michael (Debra), Paulette (Brian) Trzesniak, Helen (Mark) Vukobratovich, Melanie (Greg) Eggebrecht, Loving brother-in- law of Terry (Cynthia) Gizesky. Treasured Uncle (aka Papa Georgio) to many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Loved by many cousins, Kumovi, and friends. George and Marilyn met while attending Chicago Vocational High School where he played varsity football on the City Championship football team. His love of sports continued throughout his lifetime. George was a dedicated Police Officer/ Homicide Detective of the Chicago PD and retired on May 16, 1990 with 22 years of service to relocate to the Marco Island/Naples area and served with the Collier Co Sheriff’s Dept. for 14 years, retiring on June 8, 2004. A private memorial service to celebrate George’s life will be held at a later date.
