At the age of 91 Irvin W. Oyer, of Marco Island, Florida, passed in his sleep on July 1, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marianne, a large family, and an extensive circle of friends. “Captain Hank” started his career in the US Navy serving in both World War II and the Korean War. As a successful real estate broker and businessman, his love of the sea kept him returning to Marco Island, FL where he eventually founded Yacht Services Inc. servicing and selling a variety of marine vessels and electronics. His loyal following of customers and close friends nurtured his continued desire to serve, volunteering for the US Coast Guard Auxiliary performing search and rescue missions while captaining the Fish Hawk and the Mari-O.
Captain Hank will be cremated, and his family and friends are called to a “Celebration of Life Gathering” on Saturday, July 7 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Shipps Landing, 1090 South Collier Blvd, Phase 2 in the social room adjacent to the Phase 2 pool. Ample public parking is available behind the property tennis courts/parking deck.
