Rick had an ardent love of food and wine and the study of the culinary arts. He was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important, the simplicity of living life with those you love.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Cara Jo Peck.
Also by his sons, Andrew Richard Mammel (wife Katherine Ann and their son Aiden Andrew) as well as Mike Mammel (wife Janice David and their daughters Kaylee and Charlie Jo).
Rick worked his entire career at McDonald's Corporation traveling the world to implement new equipment, food concepts and operating standards before starting his own consulting business. If you said he couldn't do it, he would make sure he could.
He was passionate about boating/fishing/rod building, travel, cooking with his wife, creating humor on his chalkboards and spending time with family and friends.
He was relentless in his philanthropic pursuits in the GSM (gourmet men's cooking club) to raise funds for the food insecure of Southwest Florida. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rick's name can be made to the Collier County Harry Chapin Food Bank, 3940 Prospect Ave, Naples, FL 34104 or at www.harrychapinfoodbank.org.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hodgesjosberger.com for the Mammel family.
