Audrey Virginia Lee Reives was born on November 20, 1929 in Monongahela, Pennsylvania to Robert Evedell Lee and Lucinda Mitchell Lee. She departed this life on November 16, 2020 at the age of 90. She had four siblings, Arnetha, Sylvester, Dorothy, and Vivian.
She graduated from Monongahela High School in 1947, joined the United States Air Force and received an Honorable Discharge in 1952. She would later move to New York to attend business school and used her skills and talents in corporate America for many years. She was the first black female bank manager of Citibank in Bronx, NY. She was well respected among her colleagues for developing the standardized procedures for Citibank's ATM cards. She continued to excel in her professional career and rose to the rank of Branch Manager in White Plains, NY.
On June 22, 1957, she married Bernard Richard Reives and they had two daughters, Paula Renee, and Diane Marie. They spent 49 happy years together, traveling and enjoying life until Bernard's passing in 2005. She was a member of Greater Union Baptist Church in Deland, FL, where she sang in the Golden Harvesters Senior Choir.
Audrey is survived by two daughters, Paula Washington, and Diane Best (Levester), one sister Vivian Streete (Theodore) six grandchildren, Melodie Washington, Alexandra Fleming, John Wilson, Ashley Best, Bryant Best, Travis Rannie and five great-grandchildren, Anaya Davis, Aubrey Best, Elijah Powell, Olive Powell, and Jeremiah Powell, along with a host of extended family and friends.
She loved God, lived a wonderful, vibrant life and will be fondly remembered for many years to come.
