Mr. Carter Clement, age 87of Marietta, GA, formerly of Lynchburg, VA passed away Friday, December 3, 2010. Mr. Clement was a WWII Veteran, having served in the 4th Armored Division of the U.S. Army. Landing in France on D-Day, he served through the liberation of Europe. After the war, he joined the U.S. Air Force until retirement. During his service, he earned the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and a Presidential Unit Citation. After retiring from the military he worked for the U.S. Post Office in Lynchburg. Mr. Clement was predeceased by parents, Giles and Dorothy Clement; sister, Hilda Taylor (Travis) and a brother, Jerry Clement. He is survived by his wife, Winifred “Win” Clement; son, John Clement (Crystal) and a daughter, Judy Schroeder (Guy).
