Mrs. Celeste Hyzer

She graduated from Damien College with a degree in Art Education. She had a passion for teaching and spent her career sharing her love of art, history and learning to her students.

In her classrooms and all other areas, Celeste loved to create. She sewed, decorated, painted, and lettered. Her passion to learn drove her to a lifetime of travel. She loved to see new places and learn about their art, history, people, and culture.

Celeste was passionate about what she believed and was highly involved with her church and community. She volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul, loved her bible studies, and other activities around The Catholic Church of St. Ann. She sponsored children through Unbound and was able to visit El Salvador to meet some of the families that she had been supporting.

Celeste’s greatest love was for her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Arthur Hyzer, her daughter Amy White (Ty) and son Steven Hyzer, her grandchildren Nicole and Chandler White, and Jaden Hyzer, her siblings, Jeannine Austin (Robert), AJ Sumbler (Joan Butler), Scott Sumbler (Kris), and her nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A mass celebrating her life will be held at St. The Catholic Church of St. Ann, Friday August 21, 2020 at 11:00 am. The funeral will be live-streamed on the church website, www.st-ann.org/watch-live. Or you may go to https://vimeo.com/ccofstann to watch is after the funeral is over. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Vincent de Paul.
