He is preceded in death by his most beloved wife of 60 years, Lynn Gregory Putz and his parents Jean-Pierre Putz and Marthe Putz-Grandjean and sister Josette Georges-Putz.
He is survived sons Gregory & Edward Putz of Marietta: daughter Josette Smith (Dwight) and granddaughter Sarah Penelope Smith of Smyrna, GA.
Throughout his life, his family was important to him.
Mr. Putz was born in Grevenmacher, Luxembourg. He immigrated to the United States in 1949. He served in the U. S. Army, during which he was in the Korean War. After his military service, he graduated from the University of South Carolina, and worked as an account for the U.S. Department of Defense. Mr. Putz was an avid runner, having participated several times in the Peachtree Road Race. A passion of his was assisting in the Library for the Blind.
Funeral services celebrating his life, will be held at 11:00 o’clock, Thursday, March 1st, 2018, in the chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 2000 Cobb Parkway SE, Marietta, Georgia, 30060. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Zeta Lamberson will officiate. Interment, with military honors, will follow in the Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery.
